Detailed Itinerary:
Day 01: GUWAHATI – SHILLONG (100KMS/3 HRS)
On arrival meet and be assisted by our representative at the LGBI International Airport/ Guwahati Railway Station proceed for Shillong, also called ‘Scotland of the East” (100 kms 3 hrs). On the way see the majestic Umiam Lake (Barapani) surrounded by sylvan hills and wrapped in the beauty of an assortment of green Khasi-pines and the azure blue skies. You may enjoy boating there. On arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel. In the afternoon visit Don Bosco Monument, Ward’s Lake where you can enjoy boating and Lady Hydri Park (as per time permits). Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 02: SHILLONG – CHERAPUNJEE (SOHRA) (65 KMS/1½hrs)
Get up early today to enjoy the mesmerizing mornings of Shillong and after breakfast at 07:30 A.M drive to Cherrapunjee (65 kms 1½hrs), which is regarded as the wettest place in the world. On the way visit Shillong Peak to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong . Then stop at Duwan Sing Syiem view point for mesmerizing views of the Hills. On the way visit Arwah Cave- enjoy the picturesque view and the path that leads to the cave. It is a pleasant drive to see roaring waterfalls leaping into deep gorges, including the Nohsngithiang Falls, the beautiful waterfall-Nohkalikai is at Cherrapunjee. You can also explore, Mawsmai cave or, Dainthlen falls, in and around Cherrapunjee as per your time permits. (If time permits visit Weisawdong waterfall which is located just 3 kms ahead of Dainthlen. But it requires trekking and the route is not made of concrete)
Overnight stay in Sohra.
Day 03: CHERRAPUNJEE (SOHRA)- MAWLYNNONG – DAWKI-SHILLONG(90 KMS/ 2½hrs)
After breakfast drive to Wei sawdong waterfall, after that enjoy full day tour to Mawlynnong Village– The cleanest village of Asia where you can enjoy the scenic beauty. In the adjacent Riwai village you can explore the single living root bridge. Then proceed to Dawki where you can visit the Indo- Bangladesh border, the panoramic view of the suspension bridge over the ear Umgnot river known for crystal clear water. You can enjoy boating in the river,( at your own cost and as per your choice)
Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 04: SHILLONG – BHALUKPONG (300 kms 7hrs)
After Breakafst , check out from hotel and proceed towards Bhalukpong(Arunachal).Reach Bhalukpong and check in at the hotel
Overnight stay at Bhalukpong.
Day 05: BHALUKPONG- DIRANG 140 kms- 3/4 hrs)
Early in the morning drive to Dirang(4910 ft). / Arunachal Pradesh and also known for its Buddhist monasteries. It has a lot of attractions for the visitors for its cool climate. Enroute visit Tippi Orchid Centre. (Arunachal, the ‘Orchid Paradise’ is famed to have the largest variety of orchids in India. The Orchidarium at Tipi shelters 500 or more varieties of orchids which are available in various parts of Arunachal Pradesh. It is a premier Institute of excellence in orchid research and development, under the State Forest Research Institute (Department of Environment and Forests , Arunachal Pradesh). . Bomdila offers wonderful panoramic view of Himalayan landscapes and snow clad ranges and Dirang is known for picturesque valley.
Then visit Apple Orchard and Kiwi farm , Bomdila Monastery and Nag Temple . After reaching, check into the hotel
Overnight stay in Dirang .
DAY 6 : DIRANG – TAWANG (155 Kms / 6 hrs) |
Morning after breakfast, drive to Tawang (10,000 ft)- the land of Monpa Tribes & major centre of the Mahayana Buddhists.
En route witness the unique Dirang Valley famous for its monasteries, hot Springs, Apple & kiwi Orchards, sheep breeding farms & charming valleys. Also witness the snowcapped Sella Pass at 13700 ft, the Jaswant Garh War Memorial and Jung Falls. Tourist spots covered Jaswant Garh War Memorial : Legend has it that Jaswant (Mahavir Chakra Awardee (Posthumous) of 4th Batallion Garhwal Rifles), fought a lone battle against the invading Chinese during the 1962 war. His spirit is still believed to protect the place. Sela Pass : @13700 ft, world’s second highest pass The Sela Pass is is snow-covered (full or partial) all through the year and has breathtaking mystic views. Close to the Pass is the beautiful Sela Lake, a heart-shaped lake chiseled between the mountains, which intensifies the beauty of the region. The Lake is mostly frozen in winter. The Sela Pass is the main route to access Tawang town and is located 78 km before reaching Tawang. Overnight in Tawang. |
DAY 7: TAWANG |
Tawang is the beautiful land of the Monpa tribes. ‘The Land of Dawn-lit Mountains’ at 3500 mts gives you unparallel purity of nature. After breakfast, visit the Tawang Monastery (Namgeyel Lhatse), Urgelling Monastery, Ani Gompa , Giant Buddha Statue, War Memorial- enjoy light and sound show in the evening. The Tawang Monastery, also known as the “GALDEN NAMGYEL LHATSE” is one of the largest Lamaseries of Mahayana sect in Asia and is the largest of its kind in India. The Monastery is 400 year old and is adorned with the 18 feet high statue of Lord Buddha. It stands at 10,000 feet amidst the exotic Himalayan ranges and overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley. The Urgelling Monastery is located 5 km from Tawang city, and is the birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama, born in the 17th century. The monastery was established by the Lama Urgen Sangpo in the 15th century. Later visit the War Memorial commemorating the bravery of the Indian heroes of the Indo-China war of 1962. Witness the light & sound show in the evening. Overnight in Tawang. |
DAY 8 : TAWANG (BUMLA PASS)/ SANGETSAR (MADHURI)LAKE |
After breakfast proceed for an excursion to Bum La Pass and China Border (subject to permission from Indian Army). Sangestar Lake, Pankang Teng Tso Lake.
The Sangestar Lake, or more popularly known as the Madhuri Lake, is about 20 kms from Tawang, en route to the road leading to Bum La Pass. The lake is surrounded by the majestic snow-capped mountains and a marvelous valley offering spectacular views. The Bum La Pass is one of the four officially agreed BPM (Border Personnel Meeting) point between Indian Army and People’s Liberation Army of China for regular consultations and interactions between the two armies, which helps in defusing face-offs. The other BPM points in India are – Chushul in Ladakh, Nathu La in Sikkim and Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand. The process of procuring permit to visit China Border requires at least one of the guest members to visit the DC’s office the previous day for certain formalities. Permission is on the discretion of the officials. Sometimes there may be last moment cancellation even after getting permission as the region is a high security zone. DC’s office remains closed on Saturday & Sunday. |
DAY 9 : TAWANG – DIRANG ( 160 kms/ 5 hrs) |
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Dirang – unique and beautiful valley which is famous for its monasteries, sheep breeding farms & charming valleys, hot water springs where people take bath to cure skin ailments.
Then visit Dirang Valley, Sangti Valley , Thupsung Dhargye or Dirang Monastery ,Kalchakra Monastery . Overnight stay at Dirang . |
DAY 10: DIRANG – GUWAHATI (300Kms/ 8 hrs) Tour ends |
After breakfast drive to Guwahati via Shergaron- Udalguri road. On the way don’t forget to stop at beautiful and picturesque location , Shergaon and click some photos . Arrive Guwahati and check in at the Hotel. Overnight stay at Guwahati.
Day 11: Tour ends After breakfast ; check out from hotel and transfer to LGBI international airport for your onward journey. TOUR ENDS WITH SWEET MEMORIES |
Note: The itinerary is not fixed, it might be changed according to flight arrival and departure timings.

- All items of personal nature
- Any cost arising due to natural calamities like landslides, earthquake, cyclone etc
- Any cost arising due to social unrest , road blockades, bandhs etc.
- Any increase in taxes or fuel leading to an increase in surface transport
- Mandatory X- Mas / New Year Eve/ Peak season surcharge, Supplementary charges , that should be paid by the guest directly to the hotels concerned.

Entry formalities:
Please note that all Indian nationals need Inner Line Permit (ILP) to visit Arunachal Pradesh.
- 2 passport size photographs of each person
- 1 Valid Photo ID proof (Adhaar Card, Driving License, Voter ID Card, Valid Passport)
- Pan Card is not accepted as ID proof by the authorities
- 1 Valid Address proof
(Full name, age, address with Police Station and Post office should be mentioned to fill up the form)
Other Informations:
- Rates are valid for Indians
- Most of the hotels in Arunachal Pradesh have basic amenities only. Water crisis and electricity problems prevail there. No elevators are there in many hotel. No extra beds are provided ; guests will be provided with extra mattress only. Heaters can be provided with extra payment. Most of the staff engaged are not hard core professional in tourism and hospitality industry so guests are requested to cooperate with them.
- In this region there are no relevance between the distance and time travelling as it depends upon the conditions of roads and congestion of traffic.
- Guests are suggested to carry necessary cash as credit cards/ traveller’s cheques are not freely accepted ; however debit cards are accepted.
- Guests may find problems with mobile network connectivity of different service provider. It is suggestible to carry a BSNL (gsm) sim with them. Airtel also works.
China Border Formalities
Indian Nationals can visit the China Border with prior permission.
- Guests have to hire a local taxi on direct payment basis to visit Bumla Pass, Madhuri or Sangestar lake and Pangateng lake.
- It will cost 5500/ to 6000/ per vehicle
- Hotel/ Driver will assist you to get the permission.
PRECAUTIONARY HEALTH ADVISORY:
- Please note Sela pass is situated at a very high altitude of 13,700 from sea level. Due to lack of adequate Oxygen guests may suffer high altitude sickness, breathing problems etc. If guests have issues like asthma, blood pressure, heart related issues; they are advised to consult their doctors before journey.
- Guests are requested to bring necessary medicines with them as availability of such medicines might be an issue .
Note for Entry to Meghalaya:
- All travellers who wish to visit the State of Meghalaya, will need to mandatorily register on the Meghalaya Tourism App and generate an E-Invite for the proposed itinerary.
- A valid Photo ID card needs to be uploaded on the Meghalaya Tourism App including that of other members who are traveling in the group. Members travelling together can register and generate one E-Invite.
- It is mandatory to book at least an over-night stay (either hotel/ homestay/ guest house) for the first night and declaration of the complete itinerary for the e-invite to be generated.
- If the traveller is staying as a guest of any family or friend in Meghalaya, then the traveller shall declare the full address and contact details of the family or friend and the complete itinerary for the E-Invite to be generated.
- Once the above is completed, the travellers will receive an E-Invite that should be presented at the entry checkpoints along with a COVID negative certificate.
- All travellers entering Meghalaya will now have to mandatorily present a negative RT-PCR test report that should have been taken 72 hours prior to their departure.
- If Double doses of covid Vaccine is taken then Covid Negative certificate is not mandatory.
All Covid protocols to be followed as per govt guidelines.
Please Note: Preferable season to visit Arunachal is September to December mid. In December and January heavy snowfall may occur. Again from February to April there’s moderate snowfall
