DAY 01: Arrival – Almaty

DAY 02 : MEDEO & SHYMBULAK

Excursion to Medeo & Shymbulak
Medeo ice rink situated on the height of 1 691.2 meters above the sea level is known around the world. It was built in 1972. The surface of the ice occupies 1 0 500 square meters, which allows conducting competitions of skating, hockey and figure skating.
Ski resort «Shymbulak» is situated in the picturesque ravine of Zailiysky Ala- Tau Mountain on the height of 2260 meters above the sea level and in 25 kilometers from the center of the city of Almaty. At the height of 3163 meters above the sea level the elevators start their ways down.

DAY 03 : CHARYN CANYON TOUR

The canyon formation is along the banks of the fast flowing Charyn River in a northern flow stretch of about 80 kilometres, which is a tributary of the Nile River; the river has a total length of 393 kilometres. The river rises from the Tian Shan Mountains that is spread over the arid semi-desert to the east of Almaty. In parts, it attains a depth of 150 to 300 meters. The geological formation of the canyon is of sedimentary red sandstone which has been subject to the “autogenic process” of water and wind erosion resulting in “weird and colourful formations” in the form of sculptures.

DAY 04 : ETHNO VILLAGE TOUR

Tour to the Ethno Village – culture of the ancient Kazakhs and their ancestors – To see the way of life, the construction of the yurt, the demonstration of rituals; to watch the show of riders, the work of artisans; To cook bauer saks (donuts) at the master class. And at the end of the whole program, have lunch at the foot of the mountains, where you will be served national treats.

DAY 05 : ISSYK LAKE

Morning proceeds towards the Tour of Issyk Lake. This tour takes you to one of the most beautiful gorges of Trans-Ili Alatau, Issyk Gorge, which lies along the Kuldja tract where hundreds of years ago the trade caravans traveled. On the way you will learn a lot about the nature and history of this region and see the burial mounds of Saka period, where the famous “Golden Man” was found, which has become the state symbol of the Republic of Kazakhstan. You will also visit the original farm complex – Ostrich Farm, where you will not just see the African ostriches, but also have an opportunity to taste dishes cooked from ostrich meat and eggs. Then the tour route will take you to an altitude of 1756 meters above sea level, to the beautiful mountain Issyk Lake, located in the valley with the same name. The lake was formed about 10,000 years ago due to colossal landslide, resulted in the formation of the natural dam of 300 meters in height. On the lake you will enjoy the majestic beauty of its turquoise water surface and the Issyk Gorge, as well as listen to the details of the natural disaster of 1963. At the lake you will have a picnic and free time for recreation at nature.

DAY 06 : KOK-TOBE

Visiting Kok-Tobe hill with the tallest TV tower in the world. Short ride from the top of the hill to the center of the city by the famous Almaty cableway.
